Public Equity

Hanover Catalyst Fund (HCF)

The Hanover Catalyst Fund is a high conviction, unconstrained investor in small cap listed companies. The strategy seeks to take advantage of inefficiencies at the smaller end of the public markets where companies are often under-analysed and prone to price dislocations.

We primarily invest in UK and Nordic listed business and have flexibility to hold unlisted instruments where companies are transitioning in or out of a listed environment.

How we do it

Buy undervalued, quality businesses.

We seek good quality, cash generative businesses that are undervalued versus their potential on a 3 to 5 year view.

Run a concentrated, deeply researched portfolio.

A focused, high conviction portfolio allows us commit work and time to build differentiated perspectives on misunderstood or under-analysed assets.

Match duration of capital and hold period.

We are structured for long hold periods, aligning us with our companies’ potential to compound capital over many years.

Conduct in depth diligence.

We do intensive due diligence more akin to a private equity investor, with a patient, prepared and persistent investment style.

Engage with our portfolio.

We promise engaged ownership, supporting boards and management teams to unlock value, realise potential and enhance returns.
