Hanover Investors bolsters its private market transaction capabilities with appointment of new Partner

LONDON, UK - APRIL 20, 2023

Hanover Investors has appointed David Cowan as a Partner, bolstering its private market transaction capabilities.

With David's appointment, Hanover Investors is well-positioned to strengthen its deal flow and support its portfolio companies in achieving their goals. David will play a pivotal role in expanding the company's private market transactions, building upon the successful work done to date with eCOGRA and Fairline.

David brings extensive experience to the team, having previously served as a Senior Managing Director at Levine Leichtman Capital Partners (“LLCP”), a US-based firm with USD$9 billion AUM. David was instrumental in building LLCP's European business, establishing a presence in four European countries. He began his investing career at Livingbridge in the UK after working at Rothschild and Deloitte, and has a broad and successful track record of originating and executing private market transactions, with over 15 years in the private equity sector, as well as serving on multiple boards across the UK, Nordic, and Benelux markets. David is a qualified Chartered Accountant, and holds a degree in Finance from Newcastle University.

This announcement follows Hanover’s recent launch of its latest £300m Private Equity fund, Hanover Fund III, which is continuing to harness significant acquisition opportunities in the small cap public markets.

In his new role, David will collaborate with the wider team to drive growth in private market transactions, while maintaining Hanover's high level of oversight over a growing portfolio. He will also support the management of exits to generate returns for investors. Additionally, David's experience sitting on portfolio company boards will prove invaluable to Hanover's portfolio M&A efforts, which will continue to be led by Simon Balding.

Matthew Peacock, Founder and Chairman of Hanover Investors, said: "We are delighted to welcome David to the Hanover team. His impressive background and extensive experience in the industry make him an excellent fit for our firm. We are confident that David's addition will contribute significantly to our continued success and growth in the private market transactions space."

David Cowan also commented: "I am thrilled to be joining the Hanover team, to contribute my expertise and experience to help the firm crystallize value for its investors and portfolio companies. Hanover has a strong track record of unlocking potential in businesses, and I am excited to be a part of that process, driving growth and creating lasting impact in the private market transactions space."

David’s appointment is the latest in a series of strategic appointments to the senior team, including Brett Lankester, Jeremy Westhead, and John Woodard, strengthening Hanover’s bench and positioning the team for future success.
